Above Ground Pool Chemicals are certainly something you will have to consider if you have an above ground pool, because you know very well how important proper maintenance is. However, if you never really used them before because you just built a pool recently, then do not worry, as in the following article you shall learn more about this.

1. First of all, you will need to make sure you test the pool’s chemical balance by using a 4 or 5 pool test strip, so that you will check the free chlorine, pH and alkalinity of the water. To do this, you just need to get a clear glass and then add some pool water in it and then soak the test strip inside for about three minutes. After that, you will just need to remove the strip from the glass of water and read the results. You should get a desired pH range between seven point four and seven point six, an alkalinity level of eighty to one hundred and fifty ppm and a free chlorine range between 1,0 to 3,0 ppm.

2. Now, there are various Above Ground Pool Chemicals, which you can consider and you should be careful about them. To adjust the alkalinity of your pool, you will need to consider adding baking soda, but if you want to lower it, you should add muriatic acid. To increase the water’s alkalinity, you just need to pour the recommended amount of baking soda into a bucket, dissolve it with some water and then pour it around the pool’s edge. For lowering the alkalinity, you have to follow the same procedure, but this time mixing muriatic acid and then pouring the content into the pool.

3. Lastly, to increase the pH level of the pool, you need to sprinkle the right amount of soda ash around the pool’s edge, while lowering it can be done by adding the right amount of muriatic acid to ten parts of water and then proceeding as previously suggested. In addition, with that being said, that is all you need to know about Above Ground Pool Chemicals.
